Sharjah hero’ Rahul Tewatia once again played a match winning knock to guide his to an important win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

AS IT HAPPENED:

BAIRSTOW FAILS, WARNER-PANDEY SHINES!

Batting first, SRH’s in form batsman Jonny Bairstow failed to give his a cracking start and was out cheaply for just 16 runs. Then came Manish Pandey joined Skipper Warner and the duo put on a good partnership to guide the SRH inning. Jofra Archer made breakthrough by casteling Warner for 48. Pandey too fail after reaching his half century for 54 runs. Late blitz from Kane Williamson and young Priyam Garg helped the team to post a handy total of 158/4.

ONE MORE TOP ORDER FAILURE

Chasing the modest total of 158, RR’s management promoter Stokes, who was playing his first match today to open the innings. The plan didn’t work and the southpaw was bowled by Khaleel for just 5 runs. Smith’s poor form outside Sharjah continued as he ran out for 5 runs. Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa steadied the sheep but couldn’t accelerate the scoring rate.

TEWATIA-RIYAN PULLED OUT A THRILLER:

After quick wickets of Uthappa and Samson it was game in pocket for the SRH. But Tewatia and Riyan had other plans! The duo out on a unbeaten partnership of 85 runs from just 47 to win it from nowhere.
