KKR vs RCB Match Preview and predication XI
RCB will be up against KKR tonight in Abu Dhabi. Both the teams will look to solidify their positions in the points table, especially KKR who are under the threat from teams like RR and KXIP.
RCB – Unexposed Lower Order
RCB so far this season have been winning on the back of Kohli and ABD heroics and of course their bowling. But their lower order have not found themselves under much pressure. In matches against KXIP and DC where they did, they could not turn the tide of the game in their favour. If RCB is eyeing the title, lower order strength (something that MI has) will be important especially if they lose quick wickets at the top in a crucial match.
Bowling Troubles Negated
RCB this year have so far been successful in negating their bowling troubles which have haunted them in the past. With the acquisition of Morris who has the Best Economy for a bowler this year, RCB looks good in the death. Chahal and Sundar have been brilliant in the middle and have made scoring difficult for the opposition. Udana and Saini chip in the crucial overs too.
Pat Cummins has played 9 matches this season and has taken just 3 wickets! On the other hand, Lockie Ferguson played his first match this season in the last game and took a total of 5 wickets in the match, including the 2 in the super over. It will be interesting to see who will warm the bench should Narine play.
Russell’s injury coupled with his poor form has KKR muddled. Without Russell’s hitting, KKR has a scoring rate of just 9.4 RPO in the last 5 overs in the last 5 matches. There’s a huge question mark on whether Russell will play today or not. The business end of the tournament is here and KKR needs Russell to deliver with the bat.
Abu Dhabi – Home For KKR
One of the advantages that KKR has is that Abu Dhabi is their home away from home this year. They have so far played 6 matches here and they’ve won 4 of them. RCB on the other hand has played just 1 game here, that too 18 days ago! The pitches have changed surely in this time period and KKR will look to use this knowledge to their advantage.
