1st Qualifier IPL 2020, MI and DC will Fight For Final.
Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will lock horns tonight in Dubai in a quest to book a place in the IPL final . the winner of the match will head straight into the final while the loser will get another chance to make the finals in the game against the winner of eliminator.
Full Strength Mumbai Tough To Beat
Mumbai Indians rested their key players in the last game against SRH and that clearly showed in their performance. There was no one to aid Pollard in the death and they also lacked the penetration with the ball. MI will take no half measures in tonight’s game and will bring their best eleven onto the field. With the return of Bumrah, Boult and Hardik and the presence of other
in-form players, Mumbai Indians will be a tough side to beat.
Abu Dhabi has been a fortress for MI but the same cannot be said about Dubai. The Mumbai Paltan have played 4 matches in Dubai, winning just one of those 4. With both the Qualifier 1 and the Finals to be played in Dubai, MI will have to improve their record in this venue if they plan to lift their 5th title. DC, on the other hand have played 7 games here and have won 4 of them, but they’ve lost their last 3 encounters here, the most recent one against MI itself.
Lots Of Ups And Downs For DC
The road to the playoffs for DC started on a very positive note. They won 7 of their first 9 games and were in contention for the top spot. A team to beat in the first phase of the tournament have come down the ladder quite dramatically. They lost 4 consecutive games after that and managed the 2nd spot only because of their win against RCB in their last league game. Moreover, the past will come to haunt them too, being the only team in the competition to not play a final.
Dhawan and Rahane showed good signs in the last game but there’s a huge question mark on the rest of the batting of DC, particularly Shaw. In front of a bowling attack like MI, they will be tested. Scoring runs in the death (which they haven’t in their last 5 games) will be key and whether or not the likes of Stoinis and Pant can provide that sort of firepower will be interesting
to see.
