CSK vs RCB Match Preview, Predication XI

The master Dhoni will be up against the apprentice Kohli as Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore tonight.

Morris Is Back
Chris Morris, RCB’s expensive purchase for this year is fit to go. He should come into the eleven in place of Moeen Ali. This will strengthen RCB’s death bowling which has been the issue for them this year as well.

Taking The Right Call
Taking the right call after winning the toss can be a differential factor. RCB chose to chase inthe previous game against DC. The decision went against them as Delhi post 196 on the board.

Trouble Chasing
Twice this season (against KXIP and DC), RCB has crumbled while chasing a big total. The only time they chased successfully was against a humble total of 154. With experienced players like Kohli, ABD and Finch in their ranks, RCB would look to chase the 170+ scores as well.

Csk – Flurry In The Top And Drought Follows

CSK’s middle and lower middle order have let them down so far this season. The flurry of both runs and class in the top is not backed by the batsmen to follow. Players like Jadhav, Dhoni and Jadeja have not lived upto the expectations. Much like RCB, CSK too has had trouble chasing. It’s almost written in stone that the captain who wins the toss is going to bat first.

No Room For Tahir

Imran Tahir was the highest wicket taker for CSK last year. This year, he hasn’t yet played a single match. CSK, with all their spin armoury, has failed to squeeze the opposition in the middle overs. Tahir could be the solution to this problem but the big question is – who does he come in place of? Surely Curran and Bravo can’t be left out. Then there’s Watto and Faf at the top.

Changes Needed
Jadhav can be left out and the young Ruturaj Gaikwad can open with Watson. Faf at 3 and Rayudu and Dhoni to follow. This looks a much settled team with Faf and Rayudu at key positions.
