DC vs MI Match Preview and Predication XI
Mumbai Indians, who are comfortably seated at the top of the points table will go against the Delhi Capitals who desperately need a win. MI will remain at the top even if they lose this game, thanks to their awesome net run rate. Delhi, on the other hand, need 1 more win in 2 games to get to 16 points and that will ensure their qualification.
Will Rohit Play?
Rohit Sharma has missed the last 3 games for MI owing to injury, not necessarily affecting MI’s performances though. There is nothing officially said yet on Rohit’s fitness and he will most likely miss out today as well. MI would want their skipper fit and raring to go come the playoffs.
Pandyas’ Hit And Miss Form
Hardik aka Kung-fu Pandya showed in the game against RR the level of destruction he is capable of reaching. But that hasn’t always been the case. He has played good knocks here and there but the consistency has been missing. His brother, Krunal Pandya too has been off-color this season with the bat. He has contributed fairly with the ball which seems to be the major role for him. The Pandya brothers are key for MI and their form can ease the pressure on the guys at the top.
Delhi Capitals’ last three opening stands have been 1, 0, and 25. They have lost all those 3 games. Losing three games on the trot have hurt their chances to finish at the top two. Rahane was replaced for Shaw owing to Shaw’s poor technique against the short deliveries but Rahane hasn’t delivered either. It seems likely that Shaw will be included in today’s line-up.
Stoinis announced his arrival in this year’s IPL in style against the KXIP but has not been consistent since. Him and Hetmeyer have it on their shoulders to provide runs at the death but the duo has made just 21,16,19 runs together in the last 3 matches. This batting failure coupled with Pant and Iyer’s shady form has raised questions on DC’s batting prowess.
