FINALLY A FESTIVAL IN 2020- THE IPL
Better late than never! The IPL and the smiles on many cricket fans is finally here. With the advent of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League on 19th September, things are looking to finally return to normal for the cricketing fraternity.
MI VS CSK – THE EL CLASSICO OF IPL
Ipl couldn’t get a better advertisement than the age old rivalry of Mumbai Indians and the Chennai Super Kings. The two heavyweights of the tournament are set to lock horns in the opener on 19th September in the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
FINALLY A FESTIVAL IN 2020- THE IPL
Thala Dhoni is back, with what most might argue, a team heavily reliant on players in the mid30s. The seniors of cricket showed the world what experience can do in the last 2 years of IPL, but this year is a little different – No match practice, nearly 6 months away from the game, and their two go-to players’ absence- Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh. Factors like these are sure to haunt CSK but one never knows what Captain Dhoni comes up with from his bag of tricks.
IS MI MISSING SOMETHING ?
The flamboyance of their batting and the threat of their fast bowlers get subdued when you look at their spin bowling arsenal. In Rahul Chahar and Krunal Pandya, Mumbai has a lack of international experience and opposition threatening spin attack which may begin to haunt them as the tournament progresses.
WHO’S GOT THE EDGE ?
On paper, Mumbai Indians looks a better side than most teams in the competition, including CSK. With the first day pitch expected to be a batter friendly one, scores of 160+ can be expected, though the average score of the venue falls in the mid 130s. Will Mumbai with their explosive batting line-up and experienced fast bowling battery dominate CSK or will the experience that CSK boasts off prevail over the four time champions? Only time will tell!
