IPL 2021: CSK vs RR match preview and predicted playing XI
The bottom two teams of the IPL 2020 will take on each other on Monday in Mumbai. Chennai Super Kings after winning the last match comprehensively will look to continue their good run in the tournament. On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals found their momentum in their last match as well.
Deepest batting depth in the league
With Shardul Thakur batting in at 10, CSK has one of the deepest batting line-ups in the tournament, the deepest, perhaps. With a devastating defeat against Delhi Capitals, CSK came back strongly against Punjab Kings. Deepak Chahar wiping the top order made it a pretty simple task for the CSK batsmen to chase down a mere total of 107. Chahar has always been an asset for the side in the Powerplay. He makes the ball move and exploits if there’s something on offer on the surface. The tinge of grass did help him the other day.
CSK will expect Chahar to deliver consistently in the Powerplay. Moeen Ali at number 3 has been magnificent so far, he’s maintaining the desired run rate in the middle overs. Raina is in a decent touch as well. Ruturaj Gaikwad will need to find his form back. He did exceedingly well in the tail-end of the IPL 2020 season.
Did Rajasthan Royals just find a sit on the winning ride?
RR after losing the first match closely came back with some heroics from Miller and Morris. The first defeat did hurt them a lot with Samson being the hero scoring the first ton of the season. They collapsed in the second match as well. But they recovered well, thanks to Miller who held one end. This is a big positive for them as Miller’s form down the order is very crucial for them. They’re already missing their superstar Ben Stokes, moreover, Archer’s comeback is still under doubt.

Wankhade has proven to be a two-paced surface. The first two matches were high-scoring followed by low-scoring thrillers. There’s some assistance for the seamers though. Hence, it’ll be an exciting contest between these two sides.
