KKR vs DC Match Preview and Predication XI
Kolkata Knight Riders will face Delhi Capitals in a quest to make it to the playoffs. Both the teams are coming from a loss. KKR was rattled by RCB whereas Kagiso Rabada said after the DC loss that it was just a loss and not a wake-up call.
Selection Troubles For Kkr
Apart from poor performances, KKR has the problem of picking the perfect XI. The selection troubles have been aggravated by Lockie Ferguson’s form.
Cummins vs Narine
Pat Cummins, the 15 cr. buy has picked just 3 wickets this season in 10 games! Although he has contributed on occasions with the bat but his lack of ability to unsettle opposition’s top order has given KKR troubles. Ferguson won’t be dropped to bring in Narine so will it be Cummins or will KKR still bench Narine?
Banton vs Tripathi – Whom to Open With?
Tripathi swayed off his good form after a match winning 81 against CSK. Since then, it’s been Banton and Tripathi opening with Gill back and forth. Changing positions every match can be difficult for a player to get used to, it will be interesting to see who opens with Gill. Gill hasn’t been in the best of forms himself this season, neither has been Rana or any KKR batsman for that matter.
This is not the first time that there are questions on Russell’s fitness. He has been struggling with his shoulder and legs for quite some time now but until now he was delivering for the team. Things have changed this season and he has emerged to become a liability with the bat. If he’s fit to play today, one of Banton and Cummins need to warm the bench.
Delhi Capitals – Pace To Rattle Kkr
KKR’s struggle with pace against RCB is no where to hide. DC will be confident that they can replicate that today in Abu Dhabi. Anrich Nortje didn’t play the last match due to a niggle.
Shikhar Dhawan will come into today’s match after scoring two centuries in two games. He’s in red hot form but the trouble is at the other end for DC. Shikhar needs support and people like Shaw, Iyer and Pant need to step up and share that responsibility with Shikhar.
