KXIP vs MI Match Preview and Predication XI
TWO STRONG SIDES BUT THIN RESULTS
Two very intimidating sides, KXIP and MI will go head to head today. Both of them have won just 1 of their 3 games.
MUMBAI – THE BUMRAH FACTOR
Unarguably, Japsrit Bumrah is one of the best death bowlers in T20 cricket. But he hasn’t been able to perform consistently. He took match-winning wickets against Kolkata before getting smashed for 4 sixes in an over. He conceded 43 and 42 runs respectively against CSK and RCB. His form will be vital as MI move ahead in the campaign.
LYNN-SANITY
Chris Lynn can be included in the eleven instead of De Kock, who hasn’t gotten going. Kishan can take the gloves, who looks highly likely to play, even if Saurabh Tiwary is fit. But will Rohit Sharma chop and change this soon?
POLLY’S PROWESS
Kieron Pollard showed what the experience of 500 T20 matches can do. He almost won Mumbai a game that they had no right to even get close to. If the top 3 finds some form, then Mumbai could boast of a batting order that can destroy any opposition.
PUNJAB – WINNING THE CRUCIAL MOMENTS
Punjab has thus far been brilliant in their cricket. What they’re lacking is the ability to win the crucial moments which ultimately decide the game. They failed to score 1 of 3 balls in their first game and failed to defend a 220+ plus score in their latest game.
ECONOMY OVER WICKETS
Mohammed Shami has taken 7 and Cottrell 5 wickets in their 3 matches. But they’ve been very expensive, and have been unable to put a hold on the opposition batsmen. Shami’s economy is 11.71 and Cottrell’s economy is 18.60.
SPINNERS’ DILEMMA
Rohit’s trouble to leg-spin could be an area Punjab will look to exploit. Punjab has 2 quality Indian leggies in Bishnoi and M Ashwin. But everyone saw what Pollard did to Chahal and Zampa the other night and Hardik can smash the spinners too. How Rahul uses his spinners will be an important call.
