KXIP vs RR Match Preview and Predication XI
Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals find themselves in troubled waters in the business end of the tournament, more so RR. A loss today for RR would surely mean their exit from the tournament, whereas a good net run rate might still see Punjab in the Top 4 with 14 points.

Punjab – Coming Together As a Team

Punjab are on a roll, having won their last 5 matches. The wins have come despite the unavailability of Mayank (last 2 matches) and some ordinary returns by Rahul (last 3 matches). Gayle and Mandeep’s forms at the top and Pooran’s power in the middle have been key to Punjab’s turnaround.

Shami and Arshdeep’s clinical bowling performances have allowed Punjab to put up complete team performances.

Punjab Eyeing the Top 2 Position
Punjab has an opportunity to jump to the 2nd spot. They will be able to do so if they:
1) Win against RR by 25 runs or more if defending a target, OR
2) Chase the target in or before 17.3 overs.

Rajasthan – Samson Returns to Form

Samson’s innings against Mumbai Indians announced his return to form. After a good start in the first couple matches of the season, Samson lost touch and so did Rajasthan Royals. But is it too late for RR? They can get a maximum of 14 points, provided that they win their remaining two matches. Also, they need a host of results to go their way.

Jofra Archer has been in splendid form this season, amassing 17 wickets in 12 games so far. He has also chipped in with the bat on many occasions. But the problem with the bowling lies with Archer’s troops. He hasn’t gotten the kind of support that Shami and Bumrah have from their bowling units. RR bowlers have an economy of 11.51 at the death which will not suffice against the in-form Kings XI Punjab.
