Dhawan and Iyer guide DC to a commendable total.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first DC had a rather shaky start. They lost Shaw 4(3) in the very 1st over and then Rahane 15(15) in the 4th over. The duo of Dhawan and Iyer then joined in and nurtured the innings. DC at this stage were looking set to post a big total. But Iyer 42(33) got out at a crucial stage in the 14th over. Stoinis too couldn’t contribute much as he had an unfortunate run out. Shikhar Dhawan though had different plans as he kept finding regular boundaries and remained unbeaten at 69(52). DC eventually finished at 162/4 in 20 overs. For MI, Krunal Pandya had a good day with the ball with figures of 26/2.
De Kock and Suryakumar dominate DC bowlers.
In reply MI too didn’t have the best of starts as skipper Rohit Sharma 5(12) fell cheaply. But then De Kock and Suryakumar didn’t allow DC bowlers to dominate as both scored fifties. Both perished at individual scores of 53 each. Later Ishan Kishan 28(15) entered and played few good shots before he got out in the 17th over. All-rounders Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya then joined in to complete the proceedings for MI. MI chased the target with 2 balls to spare as they finished at 166/5. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of bowlers for DC as he finished with 28/2. With this win MI have jumped to the top of the table with 10 points.
