Mumbai Indian Won By 9 Wkts, Delhi Capitals Loss 4th In a Row .
Mumbai Indians are now sure to finish at the top 2 of the points table. They beat Delhi Capitals in a one-sided contest which marked DC’s fourth consecutive loss.

PERFORMERS OF THE DAY
MUMBAI INDIANS Bat: Ishan Kishan 72(47) Quinton De Kock 26(28) Bowl: Jasprit Bumrah 4-0-17-3 Trent Boult 4-0-21-3
DELHI CAPITALS Bat: Shreyas Iyer 25(29) Bowl: Anrich Nortje 2.2-0-25-1

AS IT HAPPENED

MI won the toss and chose to field first. MI had 2 changes to show – Jayant and Coulter-Nile in for Hardik (rested) and Pattinson. DC came in with 3 changes – Shaw, Harshal and Praveen Dube in for Rahane, Tushar and Axar.

Yet Another Batting Brain Fade for Delhi

In the last 3 games, DC has managed totals of 110, 131 and 135. Even Dhawan has lost his touch after consecutive tons and couldn’t leverage his form. The other DC batsmen are no where close to looking in form. They lost wickets at regular intervals. They were 22/2 after the power play, 49-2 after 10 overs, and 78-6 after 15 overs. 11-15 overs period is where DC let go of the match completely. They ended up on 110-9.

Boult-Bumrah Partnership
DC batsmen completely surrendered in front of the Bumrah-Boult partnership. One by one, they took out all the big names in the DC batting. Bumrah and Boult have been consistent for MI, more so Bumrah. After their 3 wickets a piece today, they sit on 23 and 20 scalps this season respectively, with Bumrah getting the purple cap.

Kishan Filling Hitman’s Shoes

Rohit Sharma’s absence has not affected MI one bit and he will be pleased how the young Kishan has stepped up and performed the opener’s role in his absence. Chasing a low target, Kishan and De Kock provided a settled start with Kishan being the aggressor. They were 38/0 after 6 overs. After the powerplay, Kishan stepped on the gas but took calculated risks to bring
Mumbai home in the 15th over itself.Mumbai Indian Won By 9 Wkts.

DC Struggling to Reach Playoffs
Having lost 4 games on the bounce, DC now look nervous as ever. Their last league game is against RCB and it could well turnout to be their last game this season should they lose. DC’s net run rate is, at the moment, better than KXIP but the difference isn’t much.
