Rajasthan Royals batting Failure . Tewatia couldn’t save the day this time as RR failed to chase an easy total.

PERFORMERS OF THE DAY

DELHI CAPITALS Bat: Shikhar Dhawan 57(33) Shreyas Iyer 53(43) Bowl: Anrich Nortje 4-0-33-2 Tushar Deshpande 4-0-37-2
RAJASTHAN ROYALS Bat: Ben Stokes 41(35) Bowl: Jofra Archer 4-0-19-3 Jaydev Unadkat 3-0-32-2

AS IT HAPPENED

Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat, which has pretty much now become the norm of this year’s IPL. After a couple of good knocks, Prithvi Shaw seems to have lost his mojo. Credit to Jofra Archer and his peach of a delivery to get rid of Shaw. Rahane too couldn’t face Archer’s heat.

Shreyas and Shikhar Steadying The Ship

Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan steadied the ship after two quick wickets. They built a partnership of 85 runs before both got out after scoring their respective 50s. It was key for Delhi that either one of them should have stayed till the end.

Good Comeback by Rajasthan
Rajasthan bowlers didn’t allow Stoinis and Carey to hit the ground running in the death. They squeezed Delhi and ensured that they ended up on 161.

Nortje Spitting Fire

Anrich Nortje bowled the fastest ever ball in IPL history tonight (156.2 kph). In fact, he bowled three of the five quickest deliveries in IPL ever in his opening spell tonight. He clocked over 150 kph consistently and a 155 kph ripper by him saw Buttler’s stumps flying.

Stokes – The Opener ?
Ben Stokes opened for RR against SRH and opened tonight as well. He scored a good 41 and hung there after losing his opening partner and captain in quick intervals. Rajasthan missed Stokes the finisher with the bat tonight.

Comfortable to Chaos – A Journey Of Few Balls

Rajasthan were cruising at one stage. They needed just 39 runs of the last 5 overs. Samson and Uthappa both got a start but failed to finish the game. Emphasis lay yet again on Parag and Tewatia but everyday’s not Christmas in T20 cricket, especially against the likes Rabada and Nortje.
Rajasthan kept losing wickets towards the end and the required run rate jumped to 16 in the penultimate over. The young Tushar Deshpande was impressive and closed out the game comfortably for Delhi. Delhi Capitals won by 13 runs and are now seated at the Top of the table.
