Indian batswomen falter against SA bowlers

The Indian players were on the field after months and it was pretty evident seeing the performance of them. The batswomen were unable to play shots fluently and no one was able to spend time in the middle. Mithali Raj 50(85) and Harmanpreet Kaur 40(41), the 2 most experienced Indian players in the squad took them to a respectable total though it was less. South Africa bowlers get full credit for the way they bowled. Ismail was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets while Mlaba, Khaka and Kapp went with 2, 1, 1 wickets respectively.

SA win comfortably taking 0-1 lead

Everything went right for the South African women on the field. They got a perfect start with openers Lee 83(122) and Laura 80(110) having a 169-run opening stand. They were a bit slow but winning the match is always the first priority for any team. Jhulan Goswami took 2 wickets but was too late as only 9 runs were required thereafter.

South Africa women now leads the 5 match ODI series by 0-1 and it is not a type of start which the hosts would like. With 4 more matches to go, it would be wrong to come to any conclusion as the series can still go to both sides. South Africa women beat India women by 8 wickets .
