Sunrisers Hyderabad Win Comfortably Again KXIP .

KXIP were all over the place in front of the orange army. SRH enters the top 4 after winning their 3rd match of the season last night.

PERFORMERS OF THE DAY

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD Bat: Jonny Bairstow 97(55) David Warner 52(40) Bowl: Rashid Khan 4-1-12-3 T Natarajan 3.5-0-24-2
KINGS XI PUNJAB Bat: Nicholas Pooran 77(37) Bowl: Ravi Bishnoi 3-0-29-3 Arshdeep Singh 4-0-33-2

AS IT HAPPENED

SRH won the toss and chose to bat first. The threat for KXIP bowlers was always going to be the prolific top order of SRH.

Warner-Bairstow does it again

Last year, Warner-Bairstow scored 60% of SRH’s runs. So far this year, they looked rusty but last night saw the old duo back in action and firing with all cylinders. SRH were 58/0 after 6 overs. Bairstow went bonkers in Bishnoi’s over and the onslaught continued in Maxwell’s over too. Warner played a good supporting role, scoring 50.

The Collapse
SRH were 160/0 after 15 overs. 220 looked very achievable but KXIP pulled themselves back slightly, taking quick wickets. SRH lost 5 wickets within a span of 19 balls. The architecture of the collapse were the two youngsters, Bishnoi and Arshdeep. 200 looked out of grasp for a moment but Williamson’s quick 20 off 10 saw SRH cross the 200 run mark.

All On Rahul and Mayank

Chasing 200+, Rahul and Mayank were key to KXIP’s cause. Mayank fell early, and the young Simran Singh did the same. At the end of the powerplay, KXIP were 45/2.

Pooran – Lone Warrior
Nicholas Pooran scored the fastest fifty(17 balls) of Dream11 IPL. He hit Abdul Samad for 28 in one over to tilt the momentum towards KXIP. But wickets tumbled at the other end regularly. No one of Rahul, Maxwell, Mandeep could give Pooran the support.

The Afghan Magician

Rashid Khan made it impossible for KXIP to chase down an already stiff target. He took out Pooran to put to rest any of KXIP’s hopes. A double wicket maiden didn’t help KXIP’s cause either.
SRH won the game comfortably by 69 runs. The innings of Punjab lasted for just 17 overs as they got bowled out by SRH’s class, who, mind you, didn’t have Bhuvi.
