Afghanistan scores low while Zimbabwe capitalizes
Afghanistan were in trouble right from ball one. Zadran 31(41) was the only batsmen to stay at the crease while wickets tumbled from the other end. The contribution of Zazai 37(70) was also valuable in the end as they weren’t able to score lot of runs. Zimbabwe pacers Muzarabani and Nyauchi shared 7 wickets among themselves and were the prime reason to restrict Afghanistan to 131. Zimbabwe also lost wickets early in their innings. But a fine century by Williamson 105(165) and 40 odd runs by Raza and Chakabva helped Zimbabwe reach 250 gaining a lead of 119 runs over Afghanistan. Hamza was the pick of the bowlers taking 6 wickets.
Another low score leads to Zimbabwe victory
Trailing by over 100 runs is never easy for any team. Afghanistan top order failed once again and were brought down to 21/5 in the span of 10.4 overs. Opener Zadran 76(145) was once again the lone warrior for them. The pace trio claimed 9 wickets among themselves for ZIM. Afghanistan managed to get a lead of just 16 runs which only saved them from an innings defeat to their name. Zimbabwe wasted no time to chase 17 runs and gained a 1-0 lead over Afghanistan.Zimbabwe win by 10 wkts against Afghanistan .
